Since I started Summer school I haven’t really played much Wii, but now that school is done I plan to jump right back in and see how high I can get my Wii Sports scores. Sadly, we haven’t tried out any more new games like I had promised we would, so I have nothing new to review, but I do have some tips and tricks for Wii Tennis fans. I am sharing these from a Tennis score of 2173, so I suppose they do carry some weight.
So here goes:
- The fastest route to Pro status and high scores is by playing without a partner. Yes, that’s right. Place your Mii on both front and back positions on your side of the net, and play!! If you haven’t done this before it will be a little challenging, but once you get the hang of it the game takes on a whole new dimension!
- Try to make sure you get all the points in a game, and end each game as fast as possible. The longer you stay at Deuce, the fewer points you win.
- When playing both positions, learn to give your Mii by the net more power. The net position is powerful because you’re more likely to catch your opponent unprepared.
- If you can learn to control your Wiimote to direct your shots precisely, try to go for the wide shots so that your opponents have to run back and forth a lot.
- Once your opponents start sweating, go for the kill, serve the ball and hit it back hard and fast. I found that when they start sweating they don’t run as fast.
- Master the speed serve! I have won complete games with just speed serves where the other Miis couldn’t return the serve or completely blew it. Works very well when playing against humans too!
Once you hit pro status, you have to play even better. As you approach 2000, you meet Sarah and Elisa, Nintendo’s finest in Tennis… they’re the subject for a whole other post.
Happy Playing!!
