We left Indian Lake yesterday morning about 10am. As always it was hard to leave and head back to the city, but real life can not be ignored for long.
We made a stop at the Colvin Covered Bridge in Bedford County, PA. We almost missed it because it’s about 1 mile off the main road, so you have to look out for the sign that points you there. You can get some good driving directions here.
Pretty interesting the things you find tucked away in cool little places. There is an interesting piece on covered bridges in Wikipedia. According to Wikipedia, in the United States, Pennsylvania has more covered bridges (more than 200) than any other state. From the bedfordcounty.net website, I discovered that Bedford County, PA alone has 14 covered bridges! It was cool to see one of them.
We then drove back to the humid heat of Philly, and after a stop at the house, we drove by the garden to show off our hard work, and did some harvesting and general maintenance stuff.
We then had a nice meal, and dropped J & H off at Amtrak for their trip back to NY.
