Life after the NCLEX

January 25th, 2008 · No Comments

…has been so so stress-free!! I had totally forgotten what it felt like NOT to have to study, not to worry about exams and quizzes and homework, and all that other stuff that makes school school. It’s great. I love it.

I have been busy though. I’ve been working on some projects that I had sort of put aside during the mayhem of graduating and then preparing for the NCLEX, so now I’m all caught up and that feels good. I’ve also been working on some of my websites and web projects, and starting to lay down the plans on some ideas I’ve had for a while now.

I’ve also been doing some leisure reading, mostly just browsing through magazines, and getting caught up on some of my favorite blogs on the net. And I’ve been working on some other stuff that I’m not quite ready to talk about here yet, but I will, in good time.

So what next on the career front? Well, I’m waiting for two documents to slide through my mail slot before I can officially say I’m ready to start working. One is my RN license… yeah!! The other is a little card from immigration that says I can start working. Then I can go shopping for scrubs and such.

Everything else is cool, actually right at this moment it’s very cold! We’re having all our windows replaced, so the guys just took out the windows that were there in the living room and are prepping the frame to put in the new windows, so brrrrr…. I am freezing cold.

Mary is well, busy with school. Her grad classes have started, so it’s back to watching her read hundreds of pages a day and write papers with long words that should never have been created. As far as other living creatures go, the turtle is doing well, we can tell that he has settled in and is comfortable because he’s become a lot more active and doesn’t hide out in the corner of the tank anymore. He’s fun and relaxing to watch. I call him Walter, because he looks like an old dignified gentleman with a colorful suit on, but Mary doesn’t think that name has enough character, so she calls him Wall-turd, because he likes to hang out near the tank wall and because he poops a lot… don’t ask. The only thing that I still haven’t become accustomed to is the sound of the water filter in the tank. The constantly running water makes me want to pee… I’m going to get dehydrated soon!!
