I have a new addiction - I finally started getting serious about Sudoku, and man am I hooked! Yeah, I know I know, Sudoku is old news, but give me a break! I’ve been in Nursing School! It’s like I’m rediscovering the world, emerging from a shell (oops, I promised to give the turtle a break)… anyway!
I’ve tried to do the puzzles before, mostly on the speedline heading to school on some newspaper someone left on the train seat, but I never finished the puzzles before because you don’t take newspapers with you when you leave the train. Seriously, you don’t. It’s just not the thing to do, you know? What will the next guy read if you don’t leave the paper on the seat? And think about it, what are the odds that you’ll look at that paper again? Unless of course you’re transferring to another train or bus to continue your commute, in that case different rules apply.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago Mary and I went out to New Hope to rendezvous with Jon and Hadassah for a day of hanging out, exploring, and just catching up with each other. We wandered into a little cute shop in Lambertville called The Missing Peace, where you can find all sorts of games and puzzles. It’s aptly named, because the Sudoku book I bought there has given me many peaceful hours inside my head figuring out the patterns and the logic. I love it.
I bought the Easy-to-Hard Mensa Sudoku , because it was the cheapest for the number of puzzles (hey, I’m still gainfully unemployed), and the lady at the counter said to me as I was looking at it, “Oh that’s a tough one!” Ahem, yeah, well, let’s just say I’m making progress, and more importantly, I’m having fun. And did I mention I am totally addicted to Sudoku?? My train rides will never be the same again.
Oh, and the newspaper on the train rule doesn’t apply to books, so keep your eyes off my Sudoku book.

Hi Mary!!
You will be looking back on this last month before you know it. I am having difficulty getting back into my “reading”. I am soooo used to medical that I still find myself in those magazines and on the internet. There have been a few patients that I had to brush up on… always learning!!
How about that date…. with you and Mary? I have been digging every beautiful chance I get.
Let me know…..

Michele,
Why did I have a feeling you would be into Sudoku too?? Isn’t it addicting and fun? It’s awesome. There is one puzzle that’s baffling me right now, and I refuse to move to the next one till I solve that one. There will be no unsolved puzzles…lol. So are you at the black belt Sudoku level now?
I should be coming to the Medical Center soon to drop off some paperwork at HR, and I’ll definitely stop by and say hey, maybe have lunch. I’ll call you.
Kim,
Thanks for the sentiments. I have actually been having fun getting back into reading. I should be posting soon on what I’m reading right now, mostly computer stuff and medical stuff… can’t get away from it… lol. But the Sudoku thing is making it hard for me to pick up any other books!
And yes, the date is definitely still on!! I’ll give you a call and we’ll plan something.
