How could such an exciting day be so boring?
Today was the first day of the rest of my life as a gainfully employed RN! I was wide awake bright and early, ready to get going. Did my usual before-I-leave-the-house surveillance of the items in my bag:
Notebook and Pen - Check
Wallet and keys - Check
Cell phone - Check
Apple and can of Red Bull - Check
Sudoku book and two pencils - Check
Sense of humor - Check
Go pee

Rinse and repeat a few more times (I’m a little OCD). Mary grabbed her coffee and we were out of the house like two mice after a block of cheese. She gave me a ride there because she’s sweet that way and has given me a ride on my first day of every semester, and she didn’t want to break the tradition.
They served us a continental breakfast, took our photos, and then proceeded to tell us, in summary, EVERYTHING about working at the Medical Center. It was great because I learned a lot I didn’t already know, such as it doesn’t matter how much padding nature granted you, sitting for eight hours still hurts, and other useful life lessons. Seriously though, I did get a lot of crucial information and I wouldn’t have wanted to miss the day, but it was just so boring. I have to give them credit though, at least they fed us (lunch too), and gave us lots of stretch breaks. I can’t imagine that it’s possible to make something like that interesting.
Tomorrow I start the Nursing orientation, it will be interesting to see how that goes.
No one may agree with me, but I know the turtle missed me.

[…] looked again, stood up, walked around, then looked again… rinse and repeat several times (I did mention before that I was a little OCD)… but yes, it’s completely absolutely true, I have five consecutive days […]
